This XK140 left the factory finished in Birch Grey and was repainted in Jenny Blue during refurbishment work performed between 2007 and 2011. Exterior details include a dark blue canvas soft top, removable side curtains, Lucas driving lights, fender-mounted side mirrors, dual polished exhaust outlets, and chrome bumpers with overriders. The wiper motor was rebuilt in 2017.
Chrome-finished 16″ wire wheels are secured by two-eared knock-offs and are mounted with 6.00-16 Michelin Pilote X tires. The XK140 came equipped with rack-and-pinion steering from the factory. The front suspension was overhauled in 2011, and the brake hydraulics and shoes were replaced in 2017 along with the left-rear wheel hub, wheel bearings, and tires.
Trimmed in red from the factory, the interior has been reupholstered in black with color-coordinated carpets. Appointments include a passenger-side grab handle, a dash-mounted mirror, lap belts, and map pockets on both doors.
A four-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of Smiths instrumentation that includes a 140-mph speedometer, a reverse-sweep tachometer with an inset analog clock, and auxiliary gauges. The fuel-level gauge was overhauled in 2017. The five-digit odometer shows 17k miles, approximately 1k of which were added under current ownership.
The 3.4-liter inline-six features a C-Type cylinder head with dual overhead camshafts, twin SU carburetors, and a dual exhaust system. The engine was rebuilt by Coventry West of Lithonia, Georgia, in February 2011, and a rebuilt water pump and a replacement thermostat were installed. An aluminum radiator and a PerTronix ignition coil were added in 2017.
The Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate lists the factory colors and serial numbers. Jaguar Club of North America concours judging sheets with scores ranging from 97-99/100 are available, along with records from 2011 and 2017.
