This is not your typical 2007 Cayman. While the standard Cayman is an excellent, balanced sports car, this car has been extensively developed into a serious track-focused machine with the performance and equipment to match.
At the heart of the build is a 997.2 GT3 engine and transmission, providing a significant step up in power, performance, and durability over the standard Cayman drivetrain. The car also features a center-lock setup with RS wheels, a hand-built wide-body, JRZ RS Pro 3-way suspension, lightweight decklid, carbon-fiber wing, external water-cooling pump, and center-exit exhaust.
The interior and driver environment are equally purposeful. Recaro SPG XL HANS seats, a chassis-mounted cable shifter, AIM MXL data system, intercoms, Cool Suit system, Plexi windshield, and a fire bottle installed in 2021 give the car the equipment and functionality expected of a dedicated track car.
Compared with a standard 2007 Cayman, this is a completely different level of performance and preparation. It combines GT3 powertrain technology, serious suspension and chassis upgrades, weight reduction, cooling improvements, and purpose-built driver equipment into one package. The result is a Cayman that has been transformed from a capable street sports car into a purpose-built, highly capable track machine.
